(2). Iron and Wine cover New Order's "Love Vigilantes"- Never would have thought this would work but it's addictive. iTunes Link
(3). Nouvelle Vague covers Talking Heads' "Road To Nowhere"- The best bossa nova french cover band branches out, oh so slightly, with this one.I love the way she gives it just a touch of country to it. iTunes Link
(4). Phosphorescent cover Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard's "Reason To Quit"-I love this version even better than the original. A hazy two step around a dusty old bar. I love the way his voice croaks. iTunes Link
(5). TV On The Radio cover David Bowie's "Heroes''- Faithful and yet fantastically modern. And for a good cause.
iTunes Link
(6). M.Ward (feat. Zooey Deschanel) cover Buddy Holly's "Rave On"- 1958 never sounded so fresh. I love the vibe that Ward and Zooey pull off together. Bring on She & Him Vol. 2!
(7). The Flaming Lips cover Madonna's "Across The Borderline"- only the Lips could pull this off and pull if off brilliantly with some help from Stardeath and White Dwarf. iTunes Link
(8.) Yim Yames (aka Jim James of My Morning Jacket covers George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord"- probably the best voice working in Rock and Roll today by my vote, this is simply gorgeous and sounds like it was recorded in an empty church. iTunes Link
(9). The Hold Steady cover Bruce Springteen's "Atlantic City"- Ok, Springsteen fans, I know you hate covers, particularly when it comes to Nebraska but check this out. Craig Finn get this right-it's clearly his take on the song but he pretty well nails it. Love the horns. iTunes
(10). Clare and The Reasons cover Genesis' "That's All"- a bit of a Kate Bush feel. Or is it a hipper version of She & Him? Lovely. iTunes
