Searching The South For Dent May
Where oh where has my MusicFile gone? Some of you may be asking this question while others may have enjoyed this brief new year reprieve.
The answer is simple- we are knee deep in planning our inaugural music festival, to be held in beautiful Savannah, Ga March 10-12th. We've invited a whole bunch of bands who are en route to SXSW to stop in Savannah and play a show. We'll announce all the details next week but suffice it to say, we've been wearing other hats for the last few weeks (and not just because it's been frickin freezin here in the south).
One of the guys we've invited, because he's from Mississippi and because we love his music, is Dent May. We're still searching for him, leaving odd messages, waiting to hear back... but if he doesn't come we'll just spin his music at one of our late night after parties and show him some Savannah love anyway.
Here's "Eastover Wives" from his 7" that was released last fall. I love this sound. It's Jens Lekman meets Mayer Hawthorne with a southern edge. It's old school but screams "remix me".
