And the award for new band with the best name goes to....
We Have Band
With only an EP and a heap load of accolades under their belt-including Glastonbury's prestigious Emerging Talent Award- Best Of Band is one of those rare unsigned acts that has everyone clamoring for them while maintaing 3 cool heads, one agent, one manager and a soon to be released debut album produced by Gareth Jones ((Grizzly Bear!).
The trio of Dede WP, Thomas WP and Darren Bancroft hails from Manchester and while they hate having their music 'labeled', they reluctantly agreed in a recent Contact Music Interview that they didn't hate the description "disco-rock trio". While probably pissing them off to no end, I'm gonna go with "The Shout Out Louds collide with LCD Soundsystem".
The album is due out in early 2010 but until then, have a listen to "Time After Time" which appears on the Kitsune Maison Compilation, Vol. 7.
